Mission Statement:
Beacon Peer-Support Services offers an inclusive, safe and restorative environment for adults navigating mental health. We are a non-clinical membership-based, peer-run program that values each member equally. Our goal is to empower members with access to creative spaces, skill-building, self-development, supportive socialization, advocacy, and education through an established purpose-driven day. We engage members in every aspect of its operation, including leadership. Participation is voluntary and adapted to support each individual's gifts and capacities.
Purpose-Driven Days:
Beacon Peer-Support Services is built upon the belief that every member has the potential to sufficiently rehabilitate from the effects of mental health challenges to lead a personally satisfying life integrated into society. We are a community of people who are dedicated to the success of one another. We are organized around the belief that having purpose, and working towards goals alongside others, is restorative and provides a firm foundation for growth and individual achievement. For this reason, our program is organized around a consistent purpose-driven day, offering members opportunities for skill building, job training, education, health and wellness, supportive socialization, and employment and housing advocacy and support.
